06/06/2022 - Some new resources have been added to the JMO Welfare tab, including a list of GP's in the ACT who are happy to see colleagues as patients.
23/5/2022 - Kerry Taliaferro the CNC for IVAT team has recommended the following Western Australian free FOAMed ultrasound guided peripheral venous access course. It’s about 4 or more hours to complete. It would be a requirement before any other training could go ahead, which we are working on. Ultrasound Guided Peripheral Venous Access • LITFL • CPD
23/05/2022 - New research opportunity: Dr Abdel-Latif Mohamed (neonatologist) is looking for Junior Staff to participate in Neonatal Research with the intention of publication. Dr Mohamed is happy to supervise juniors either as first authors for specific paper (of course with the work tag that come with this) or as a participants who are willing to complete specific tasks and be included as an author. Prior research experience is not essential. Please contact: Abdel-Latif.Mohamed@act.gov.au with expressions of interest.
26/04/2022 - A new tab has been added 'Live Rosters'. This is a trial to see if having access to live rosters makes everyone's life easier. Please have a look at the business rules on the page. Feedback will be sought regarding how well this system is working. Only those with an active act.gov account will be able to access these rosters.
08/03/2022 - A new collaboration between the Director of Physician training and the DPET team means we now have access to the BPT teaching videos! There are not one, but TWO new links on the 'Teaching Channels' page called 'BPT Teaching' for the general teaching sessions, and 'BPT MCQ Revision' for more directed study purposes. It will be filling with content as of today.
23/02/2022 - The Research Page is now live! It includes links to all of the directors of research within the different hospital units. See the Research page on the navigation tab for more info!
09/02/2022 - Direct links to the teaching program's lecture PowerPoints are now on the Teaching Channels page - should be very obvious. You need an active act.gov account to access these as they are hosted on the act.gov SharePoint.
25/01/2022 - The consult tips links have been fixed and are now working properly. A tonne of new info has been added to the Discharge Summary page to help you with these. The welfare page has also been updated with information about the new Workplace Resolution and Support Service.
13/01/2022 - Happy New Year! - Welcome to all of the new JMO's commencing with CHS in 2022, and farewell and thankyou to those of you who will be leaving us. Stay tuned for more updates as the clinical year kicks off in early February!
21/10/2021 - A new Career Advice Page is up - it has videos from registrars within CHS who provide some information regarding different speciality training programs.
30/09/2021 - A new self directed learning resources page is up and running - have a look to see what online resources are available to help you get your learn on.
02/09/2021 - Due to a shake up in the IT systems within CHS, we are currently transitioning from Dropbox to the CHS OneDrive service. This means you can only access the dropbox content while you have an active ACT.GOV account. The relevant pages now have a link to the MOSCETU dropbox content on OneDrive - it looks a little different but the content is the same. The migration should be complete by the 10th of September 2021. If you are logging in from a non ACT.GOV computer you will be asked to input your ACT.GOV credentials once you've clicked on the link.

26/08/2021 - The Interview Tips Page has now gone live - it has two videos and multiple links to information regarding preparation for medical interviews.
20/08/2021 - As of 7:30am Thursday morning 19/08/2021 the Gungahlin Walk in Centre will operate a CHS staff only COVID testing site.

CHS Staff ONLY – ID will be required

Staff must wear a mask

This will not include a clinical assessment – it is only for the purposes of a COVID test
The site will be available to staff 0730 – 2200 (last in by 2130)
This testing site is NOT for broader public use – this is a targeted testing site to minimise the loss of frontline health staff due to quarantine requirements.
Staff do not have to attend this clinic, they can get tested at any testing site that they choose.

28/06/2021 - Here's an interesting site - The Emergency Care Institute (NSW) - https://www.aci.health.nsw.gov.au/networks/eci - has some great pathways on common ED presentations from a similar jurisdiction as the ACT - go to 'clinical tools' and see what's there!
10/06/2021 - The DPET Team have started a Whatsapp group for rostering issues - please go to the "JMO Whatsapp Groups" tab to scan the QR code to join.
08/06/2021 - If you are asked to review a patient who is admitted to TCH but residing at National Capital, please refer to the email sent to you on the 03/06/2021 to your act.gov account regarding practical issues with managing these patients.
03/06/2021 - As of 02/06/2021, JMO's are not to perform unsupervised procedural sedation on patients at TCH. How this will be managed in future is currently under review. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact the DPET team to discuss further. An email has been sent to all clinical directors regarding this expectation.

10/05/2021 - Need to order an MRI at TCH? You need to do the MRI Safety Checklist. You can now send this directly to the dedicated Radiology email inbox - Medical.imaging@act.gov.au - and use the following subject line: “MRI Inpatient – MRN 123456 – Last Name”. The checklist is on the 'useful paperwork and documents' page, and also right here - 'MRI Inpatient Checklist'
